Northend Colts 3 Newcastle Town Colts 0   Saturday 31st August 2024

The first half kicked off with the Colts on the front foot. Our players worked hard from front to back, executing the basics. Both teams fought fiercely to gain the advantage, but it was the Colts who struck first! Some excellent pressure by the forward line won the ball high up the Newcastle wing, leading to Harrison serving up a delightful cross for James who darted into the 6-yard box to open the scoring.
As the half progressed, it transformed into a fast-paced showdown. Newcastle came close to equalizing on a few occasions, but our back three, along with debutant Callum in goal, made sure they didn’t get past.  Half time 1-0

Heading into the second half, Northend started a little lighter on their feet, and the chances began to flow. Max, Oscar, Kane, Harrison, James, and Throne took aim at the Newcastle keeper, keeping him busy. Northend finally got some well-deserved relief as Harrison and James teamed up again. With a lay off pass from Harrison and a signature shot from James, we struck again! That put us at 2-0.
Still buzzing with confidence, the Colts kept pressing forward, and finally, our centre forward Harrison got his moment in the spotlight. He beat his man down the left flank and sent a cheeky shot past the Newcastle keeper at the far post. Full time 3-0
